Bible Study - Ezekiel

Join us for our 6 Lesson study of the Book of Ezekiel to learn more about this important Biblical Prophet and the effect he had on the people of God in the Old Testament as well as our Lord’s and the Church’s message today.

Ezekiel is a wonderful, challenging, and sometimes perplexing book. To get God’s message across, there is no disguising the fact that the prophet Ezekiel does extreme things at the prompting of the Lord and speaks severe words to a people gripped by sin and rebellion. In this book we encounter vivid, surreal, and sometimes shocking visions and extended allegories. But Ezekiel is also a glorious book, brimming with hope and the promise of God’s consolation and renewal through his Word and Spirit. Above all, Ezekiel shows us the power of God’s word: a word that spoke to the people of Ezekiel’s time and continues to speak to us today. Join us as we unpack the meanings behind this prophet’s message from God.

We will meet via Zoom at 7 pm Wednesday evenings, Thursday at Noon. We will also meet Friday noon, in person, at Guardian Angels in room 5. There will be 6 weekly sessions beginning October 29/30/31 and ending December 17/18/19.  If you plan to attend, please contact Rick Halsted at rhalsted@frontiernet.net or leave word at the parish office, 334-3518 to receive Zoom information for the on-line sessions as well as weekly study materials. As the primary text, we will be using the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible booklet, “The Book of Ezekiel.” It is available through Ignatius.com and Amazon.com.
