Funerals & Bereavement

Welcome to St. Marianne Cope Parish. We are here to assist and support you in every way that we can in helping you through the grief process. Please know that your family and loved ones are in our prayers, especially at this time.

The death of a member of the Body of Christ affects the entire Christian Community. Scripture tells us that “those who are baptized into Christ and nourished at the same table of the Lord are responsible for one another.”  Jesus Christ taught us that, above all, we are to love God, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Out of this love, we care for the sick, give solace to the afflicted, feed the hungry, and give water to the thirsty. We are also called to a ministry of consolation; to care for the dying, to pray for the dead, and to comfort those who mourn. The Church comforts mourners with prayers, rituals, and liturgies which help us continue the ministry of Christ – a ministry that is the responsibility of all Christians.

On this page you will find information and resources for Bereavement and Funeral Planning. Saint Marianne Cope Parish offers support for every step of the grief process from pastoral visitation and funeral planning to bereavement group and remembrance services. If you have questions after looking at the information on this webpage please contact the parish office.

Thank you, and may you know the presence and love of God in this time of need and always.
